Hello, my name is Ashleigh Joyner, and I am a graduate student at Old Dominion University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I will be running a 10-week counseling group for late-diagnosis neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ adult individuals, starting October 11, 2024. As a graduate student, I will be under the supervision of an experienced professional, practice owner Asha Gray, to ensure the best support for our group members. I am allowed to see clients located in DC and Virginia.
Information about the group:
Title of group: The Intersection Between Queer and Neurodivergent
Purpose: To create a supportive community where adult individuals who are queer and neurodivergent can explore their identities, share experiences, and learn coping strategies for navigating various aspects of life.
Some topics we will be discussing are:
* Identifying and exploring symptoms
* Developing coping strategies
* Skill building and instillation of hope
* Understanding intersectionality
When: Fridays, 5:30pm-6:20pm, EST. Start Date: October 11th, 2024. This group is a time-limited group that will meet for 10 weeks.
Where: Group will meet virtually over Zoom.
Cost: $10 per weekly session. (Sliding scale available if needed)
